The personality prompt is ideal for an FAQ assistant because it addresses the core requirements of the role:

  • Precision and Expertise: Ensures responses are accurate and directly address the user's query.
  • Professional Tone: Maintains a formal and business-like tone, appropriate for representing an organization or business.
  • Clarity and Conciseness: Delivers quick, easy-to-understand answers, avoiding unnecessary complexity.
  • Contextual Relevance: Tailors responses to the specific context, ensuring answers are relevant to the user’s needs.
  • Consistency: Keeps the AI in character as a digital assistant, avoiding deviations from its role.

These attributes ensure that the AI provides reliable, professional, and contextually appropriate answers, perfectly suited for FAQ tasks.

The Personality prompt can be changed

  • Changing the Personality Prompt: By setting a personality or persona of your own, you can provide the AI with a clear direction on how to speak, what kind of language to use, and what perspective to assume.

To change the personality prompt just remove the current prompt by deleting it and then add your own.

  • For example, instructing the AI to act as a CFO at a multinational tech company helps ensure that the responses are delivered in a financially savvy, strategic, and formal manner, reflecting the professional judgment and tone one would expect from a real CFO.
  • Why This Matters: Without guidance, the AI might answer in a neutral or default style. By giving it a persona:
    • Consistency: Responses remain aligned with the persona’s role and industry context.
    • Appropriate Language & Terminology: A CFO persona would discuss financial metrics, strategic investments, cost optimization, and compliance, rather than drifting into unrelated topics.
    • Brand/Role Alignment: If a user is interacting with what they perceive as a company’s CFO, they expect CFO-level insights. The persona-based prompt ensures these expectations are met.

The personality prompt should be structured like this:

Example:
